Reel Snippets of 2-2-16

Yikes! Another schedule slip? I’ve got to get myself back on track. In any case, here’s my first review of something that came out this year. Better late than never!

Wow, this was a long one to write. But can you blame me? This movie gives me a lot to talk about.

Classic Snippets of 1-21-16

Wow, it feels like it’s been ages since I’ve made a post. I’m overdue for an On My Mind post too, so I’ll do that tomorrow along with my Scribbles. For now, though, here’s a delightful gem from last year that, while not making my top movies list, was still enjoyable and deserves more attention.

Reel Snippets of 1-11-16

Sorry this is so late. Editing had to take a backseat to family affairs. Anyway, here’s one of last year’s stragglers that I want to catch before they’re off to the DVD pasture.

Reel Snippets of 1-4-16

I’m back! Sorry for disappearing like that. I’ll explain more on Wednesday. I’d say it’s back to business as usual, but I’m actually updating the Snippet format to include a synopsis and a fun tidbit. With all that out of the way, here’s a look at the first of many critic favorite films that closed out 2015.

Of all the movies coming out this year, could this be the movie that everyone was waiting for? Do Ewoks throw awesome tree parties?

Reel Snippets of 12-14-15

Today’s theme is movies that premiered directly on Netflix, our newest source of media. The first film we’re looking at delves into the life and times of Rolling Stones legend Keith Richards. The other one comes to us from… Sandler… again… please shoot me…

Classic Snippets of 12-10-15

I hate the fact that I have to use “classic” to describe this movie, because the two simply do not belong in the same sentence. It might have worked if it was a kids movie… and had a different script… and had all of Adam Sandler and his Sandlerness removed…

Reel Snippets of 12-7-15

On the seventh day of Christmas, Fish and Cherries gave to me… four Reel Snippets?! Yes indeed. I wasn’t kidding when I said that I’d be coming back swinging from my vacation. So here you go, four whole reviews. Also, for the Jewish portion of my fanbase, consider this your present for the second day of Hanukkah.

Classic Snippets of 12-3-15

Hope you all had a good Thanksgiving, because we’re back on what I like to call an equation day. What’s that, you may ask? Well, it’s when the numbers in the date form a legit mathematical equation. For today, 12 + 3 = 15. Or 3 + 12 = 15, if you’re in the UK. Going past that quirk of my mind, let’s settle down for a Classic Snippet that would have been more topical coming out on Thanksgiving. Also, since we’re approaching award season, let’s look at an Academy Award nominated classic from recent years. Enjoy.
