Classic Snippets of 11-5-15

Well, folks, here we are. The final movie in the Road to Genisys. After this, I’ll be reviewing Genisys itself and this time, you won’t have to wait an entire month to read it. For now, here’s the entry of the Terminator franchise that inspired a colossal “meh” from audiences worldwide.

Remember last year when I reviewed The Boxtrolls and said I’d get to ParaNorman the next week? Haha… yeah, apparently deadlines like that are lofty ambitions for me.

And let’s not forget that it’s the last Thursday of the month. So for today’s Ronin Reads, let’s take a look at a Star Wars book that spun off from a recent TV series. A spin-off of a spin-off, if you will.

This week’s theme of horror is self-awareness and deconstruction. Hang on tight, we’re in for some good ones.

If it’s in a word or it’s in a look… Jesus Christ, lady, don’t touch that book!

You’ll have to watch the movie to get that one.

Fun fact, this film’s subject was actually introduced to me very young through the song “Zombie Jamboree.” Today, my childhood has come full circle as I finally discover the story of Philippe Petit and his wire walk between the World Trade Center.

Well, I can safely say that they represented Mars quite accurately. Watching the film actually made me a bit nostalgic for the place. Maybe I’ll make a summer home there. It is, after all, technically maritime. Watch the film to understand that.
