Tucker and Dale vs. Evil is absolutely hilarious and is a great horror comedy to enjoy around Halloween season. The premise is genius, playing out all the traditional slasher tropes, but with most of the deaths being accidents or serendipity and the “slashers” being two innocent, doe-eyed hillbillies who don’t understand why all these college kids are afraid of them. The comedy is great in a really twisted way and goes so over the top with the gore as to be impossible to take seriously. But beneath it all, there’s a heartfelt Beauty and the Beast style theme running throughout it that really grounds it and gives it a good message and soul. Also, Alan Tudyk. Not much else to say about it: it’s good, it’s funny, check it out.
